Patrick Hoban Multimedia Design and Editing Spring 2012 Intro Blog

My reason for taking this class is so that I can become familiar with using media design programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and inDesign.  I am interested in working in the media design, mainly graphic design, field after I gradutate next year. I think that think class will be very benificial for me. I am also interested in art so I think that this class will also be interesting for me because it will give me a new media to work with.

Facebook is the Google+ Killer

When Google+ first came out everyone was excited.  We all thought, "wow, could this actually make facebook obsolete?"  It didn't. And it won't. Google+ is nothing more then a bland boring copy of facebook.  There isn't anything special about it at all. There's no unique thing that makes people want to keep using it.  When you get there you think to yourself, "now what?"

What first got people's attention was the 'invite only' aspect of Google+.  We thought that it was cool to ba apart of something that not everyone was able to access.  Once we looked past that though there really wasn't anything else that was special.  

Google+ is simple but yet still confusing.  It doesn't seem to have a purpose other then trying to take down facebook, which isn't going to happen any time soon.

I tried Google+ once and thats all the time I needed to decide to delete my account.  There is no point trying to beat facebook, especially when you don't have the capability to do so.
